Message from the Executive Secretary
Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB) is a specialized agency of the Rivers State Government with a clear mandate to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate all Primary Health Care programmes and activities in Rivers State. Since its establishment in 2011, it has embarked on high impact interventions to improve the health of under-5 children and women with attendant reduction in morbidity and mortality among this population. However, all age groups have equal access to 342 health facilities spread across the state.

We provide a network of 344 health facilities with trained personnel across the
State to guarantee quality, affordable and accessible health services to residents.
Building a culture of health and well-being in Rivers State
The actualization of this laudable effort at this time was in a bid to meet with the Millennium Development Goals(MDGs). The Pioneer RSPHCMB was led by Dr. Claribel Abam JP as Executive Secretary and Dr. Uriah .S. Etawo as Chairman of the Board.
The RSPHCMB has since then embarked on high impact interventions to improve the health of under-5 children and women and reduce the morbidity and mortality in these groups. Equal access is provided to all age groups and persons at the 342 health care facilities spread across the 23 LGAs of the State.
